As Director of Surety, Richard is responsible for the management of C3’s contract and commercial surety practice. With over 25 years in surety program management and placement, Richard has been efficacious in obtaining surety credit for national and international contractors and developers.
Prior to joining C3, Richard was a Principal and the Director of Surety for a global insurance broker. He also has held underwriting positions at Arch Insurance and Westfield Companies. His industry experience includes general construction, subcontract trades, environmental, and energy development. Richard has underwritten and managed surety programs in excess of $750 million and has expertise in domestic and international surety placement, including reverse flow transactions.
His designations include Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM). Richard served as past president of the San Diego Surety Association and is an active member of various organizations including Associated General Contractors (AGC), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP).
