Mario grew up mostly in a small town in the Mojave Desert, before moving to San Diego and eventually to Northern California. He and his wife live in Santa Rosa, CA and have two adult children and a 4-year-old dog named Frito.
Mario graduated from Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach, attended Southwestern Community College, and the University of San Francisco. He has been working in employee benefits for 30 years and has obtained a GBA designation. Like many people, he didn’t start out thinking he would have a career in insurance but has found employee benefits to be both challenging and rewarding.
With 30 years of experience, he has worked with almost every segment of the health insurance spectrum. This includes individual/family, small group, mid-size and large/jumbo accounts. His most recent experience was working with self-insured and alternative funding programs. His hobbies include gardening, hiking and woodworking.
