Aleks was born in Warsaw, Poland and immigrated to the United States with her parents and sister in 1993. She spent the first 15 years of her American journey in New Jersey, just across the river from lower Manhattan.
She graduated from New Jersey City University with a degree in geology and physics, launching her professional career in environmental consulting in New York City. After a decade in consulting, Aleks transitioned into petroleum geology, working in the Bakken oil fields of North Dakota as a wellsite geologist, where she also met her husband, a fellow geologist. Recognizing the volatility of the oil field economy, she shifted into commercial insurance five years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic—a field she has thrived in ever since. Aleks loves the unique challenges of commercial insurance, where she applies her problem-solving skills and creativity to deliver solutions for her clients.
Her diverse professional background allows her to work effectively with a wide range of clients and complex situations. She has learned that there is always a way to find common ground while supporting and guiding clients through challenges.
Outside of work, Aleks enjoys spending time with her husband, their 9-year-old son, and their two dogs—a standard poodle and an Australian shepherd. Together, they camp, hike, and rock hound around their home in northern Nevada. A passionate film photographer since college, Aleks always keeps a camera close at hand.
